Remember when we told you that Brewerytown’s Fit Academy gym was expanding to a second location in Rittenhouse? A location formerly occupied by Body Cycle Studio (R.I.P., we miss you!)? Well, it’s here folks, and let us be the ones to tell you: You will not recognize the place.
The studio, which is located on the third floor and a mezzanine at 1923 Chestnut Street, has not only give the space a new paint job, it’s also knocked down walls, moved bathrooms, and added a brand-new staircase to the floor below. The result? A studio that’s much brighter than the former occupant Body Cycle Studio’s moody tones — and with significantly more space.

On the main floor, there are four showers and two bathrooms outside the group fitness studio.

Unlike its Brewerytown sister location, the new Fit Academy is designed to serve two different audiences: the clients and the trainers. Upstairs there is a small group fitness studio, designed to handle classes of 15 max, outfitted with kettlebells, dumbbells, BOSU balls, and brand-new machines known as Ski-Rows, which can transform from a SkiErg to a rowing machine at the touch of a button.
Downstairs, there’s a brand new personal training area — complete with a turf floor, weight racks, and more yet-to-arrive high-end machinery — where Fit Academy instructors can work one-on-one with clients. And, at the bottom of the new staircase, there’s a lounge where trainers can meet with clients, catch up on email, and socialize.
