Great American Brewery Runs Is Putting on Their First-Ever Runners’ Beer Expo

They want to help you find your perfect post-run beer.

If you are 100 percent sure that your favorite way to end a run is with a nice, cold beer, but aren’t sure what your favorite post-run beer actually is, the folks from Great American Brewery Runs (they’re the guys behind races like the the 5,000 Yards Dash) want to help you find it: They’re putting on their first-ever Runners’ Beer Expo this April.

Here’s the deal: The event will kick off with a fun run (natch) along the Delaware River, starting and ending at Revolutions at Penn Treaty in Fishtown, at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 8th. Once back at Revolutions, the beer drinking will commence: They’ll have three breweries on deck — Sly Fox Brewing Company, Flying Fish Brewing Company and Yards Brewing Company — and they’ll be doling out samples of a curated selection of nine beers (your ticket gets you six sample brews and a commemorative tasting glass to drink your future post-run beers out of).

Essentially, the event is your typical beer run on steroids.

Along with the run and beer, your $15 ticket also gets you access to register for the 5,000 Yards Dash and the Flying Fish 5K before registration opens to the public, along with a chance at winning a slew of door prizes from breweries and discounts on local races. And once the mini beer fest of sorts ends, runners will get happy hour discounts on beer and discounts on bowling. The event is capped at 200 beer-loving runners. And psst: If you use the code “BeWellPhilly” to register before Thursday, March 16th, you’ll get $5 off, bringing your ticket down to just $10. It’s kind of a no-brainer, right? If you want in, you can snag your ticket here.
