Run215’s Next Race Bus Makes Running 7 Miles in the Freezing Cold Worth It
If you’re planning on running the Chilly Cheeks 7-Miler in Reading on January 24th, you’re going to want to get in on Run215’s race bus action. Warning though: You just might be a little bit tipsy when you hit the trails.
The race bus, which has 46 spots on it, will pick runners up at Broad and Christian streets on race day at 8:45 a.m. Once you get on the bus, you’ll be able to get your hands on some coffee (so necessary), food and beverages of both the tipsy-inducing and non-tipsy-inducing variety. After the killer seven-mile run up a mountain in freezing-cold January weather, the run bus participants will treat themselves to some very well-earned brunch then hop back on the bus where, as founder of Run215 Jon Lyons says, “MUCH more beverages, food and high-fives will be shared” on the way back to Philly.
Once back in Philly, runners will head to a an after-party, location TBD. And here’s the crazy part: The whole shebang — the ride, beer, food, and so on — will only cost you $15. So basically, the gas money it would take you to get to Reading and back. Oh! And did I mention, The North Face is going to be giving all the bus riders swag bags complete with custom-made Run215 arm warmers? So your arms won’t get too chilly on the Chilly Cheeks run. Yeah, like I said, you’re going to want in on this.
Tickets go on sale at 8 a.m. this coming Monday, and they’ll probably go fast. So go ahead and bookmark this ticketing page and mark your calendars for December 7th at 8 a.m, folks! And a note: Registration for the bus does not include registration for the race. You’ll have to do that separately here.
