Meet King, This Week’s Adoptable Running Dog
This week’s adoptable running dog is a very young guy (eight months old!) who is waiting for someone to come scoop him up from ACCT for rescue, foster or adoption. He’d be a pretty cute pup to sneak turkey scraps to under the table this Thanksgiving, am I right? Learn more about him below.
Name: King
Age: 8 months
Breed: Pit bull-Terrier mix
History: King was surrendered to the shelter by his first family, who could no longer keep him when they moved.
King’s running style: King has happy feet, a full-body wiggle and a winning smile! This guy is a diamond in the rough if our Milers scouts have ever seen one.
Why King is awesome: He is outstanding in field events (he loves to play fetch), has great cross-training skills (he knows “sit”), and he appears to be housebroken and knows his name! He will likely make a great pacer and motivator, too — and a gentle one, as he has lived with kids!
If you’re interested in adopting King, stop by the ACCT at 111 West Hunting Park Avenue and ask about adopting. King’s record number is A30120221. For more information about the adoption process, visit their website. And for more awww-worthy photos, check out our previous adoptable running dogs here.
……………..
We work with The Monster Milers each and every week to profile local running dogs waiting to be adopted. The Monster Milers are a group of runners who help shelter dogs burn off energy and get much-needed exercise by taking them on runs around the city, and they also just launched their first-of-it’s-kind Adopt a Running Buddy foster program. If you’re not in the market for a pup right now, but would still love to help out homeless dogs, you can always become a Monster Miler volunteer or foster parent. Find out more about how to get started with those processes here.
