Meet Gladys, This Week’s Adoptable Running Dog
You guys, just look at the EARS on this week’s adoptable running dog, Gladys. You can learn more about this young pup and how to adopt her below. Because how could you not want to?
Name: Gladys
Age: 6 to 12 months
Breed: Pit bull/Terrier mix
Size: 27 pounds. She’ll probably be around 40 to 45 pounds when fully grown.
Background: Gladys was found wandering the streets as a stray.
Running style: Gladys is a puppy, so she can’t do a lot of running yet because her bones and joints are still growing, but she loves the sights and sounds of walking in Old City, where she is awaiting adoption.
Why Gladys could be the right dog for you: Gladys was named after Gladys Knight because she has lots of soul. She is sweet and loving and would happily travel with you wherever you go. And just wait until you see her eyes — they are the most remarkable color. Not to mention those ears … (PAWS doesn’t know how Gladys feels about cats yet, but she could live with children and other dogs.) Like any puppy, Gladys will need basic obedience training to make sure she is the best companion she can be.
You can find out more about Gladys (and other adoptable animals) here. If you are interested in adopting her, you can email PAWS at dogs@phillypaws.org, call them at 215-298-9680, ext. 16 or fill out an application here. Gladys’ animal ID is A27973161. ………..
We work with The Monster Milers each and every week to profile local running dogs waiting to be adopted. The Monster Milers are a group of runners who help shelter dogs burn off energy and get much-needed exercise by taking them on runs around the city, and they also just launched their first-of-it’s-kind Adopt a Running Buddy foster program. If you’re not in the market for a pup right now, but would still love to help out homeless dogs, you can always become a Monster Miler volunteer or foster parent. Find out more about how to get started with those processes here.
