Throughout the summer, we’ll be bringing you healthier cocktail recipes concocted by Philly craft bartender and the brain behind Spirit Forward, Dan Hamm, who believes strongly in the powers of fresh herbs and fruits when it comes to whipping up a good drink.
This cocktail, made with muddled peaches, honey, fresh lemon juice and bourbon, is basically peach tea, minus, you know, the tea. But who needs tea when you have bourbon, right? Right.
Recipe: The Golden Peach
Ingredients
3/4 oz. fresh-squeezed lemon juice
3/4 oz. honey syrup (Note: To make honey syrup, just add one part water to two parts honey and stir to combine. All this does is makes the honey more pourable and ensure it doesn’t get gummy when shaken.)
1.5 oz. bourbon
2 peach slices
Method
1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker and muddle the peach slices.
2. Shake lightly and strain into your favorite coupe or martini glass and garnish with a peach slice.
3. Drink up!
