Reminder: Mayor’s Cup Kick-Off Party Tonight!

Just a quick reminder that if you’re curious about this summer’s running club championship, the Philadelphia Mayor’s Cup, you can get the full skinny at tonight’s kick-off happy hour at Field House from 6 to 9 p.m.
Organizers are inviting running clubs from around the city to attend. Individuals who aren’t active running club members can use the opportunity to meet the clubs, make some friends and join a club that strikes their fancy. Remember: The only way to participate in the Mayor’s Cup on August 8th is to run as part of a running-club team, so joining one is a must if you want to complete one of the Cup’s five running events.
Tonight’s happy hour doubles as a pre-registration opportunity, too. Folks who attend the happy hour will score a $5 entry-fee discount and be able to sign up for the event ahead of the masses. General registration opens online tomorrow morning. Registration fees vary by event, but they start at $25 for the 5K and range to $55 for the half marathon.
Field House is located at 1150 Filbert Street in Midtown Village. The party will take place in the upstairs bar. Note: Philly-based organization Clothes-pin will be collecting used running shoes to donate to people in need.
