If you’ve yet to explore the gorgeousness that is the Wissahickon—especially some of the off-the-beaten-path trails—listen up: On October 5th, the Old School Trail Run returns with a five-mile course through the park that’ll take you on ruddy, backwoods trails, through meadows, along the creek and more.
The chip-timed race starts in front of Cedars House Cafe and starts at 8:30 a.m. There will be awards for top finishers, and every participant gets a North Face Bag, tech shirt and refreshments. The event raises money for the Challenged Athletes Foundation, a group that supports people with physical disabilities so they can pursue active lifestyles, and Friends of the Wissahickon.
It’s $30 to register. Sign up here.
