Do This: Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk Pre-Opening 5K Fun Run and Party

Want to be among the first to run on the soon-to-open Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk? On October 1st, Schuylkill River Development Corporation and Friends of Schuylkill Banks will be opening it up one day before its public debut to 200 lucky runners.
They’ve teamed up with Philadelphia Runner and Shake Shack to host a boardwalk pre-opening fun run and walk. The run includes time on the new boardwalk, then takes you the length of the Schuylkill Banks up to the Waterworks Pavilion and back to Walnut Street. Afterwards, there will be a party along the banks near Walnut Street, where participants will enjoy complimentary Shake Shack custard and PBC Philadelphia Runner’s Ale (sound familiar, Philly 10K-ers?).
The run starts at 6:30 and the walk starts at 6:45. Note that both are untimed, for-fun events. It’s $20 to take part ($30 at the door, if there’s any space left), and they’re capping it at 200 participants, so get your sign-up on ASAP if you want in.
