How often can you say your morning workout took place at Joe Frazier’s old training spot? Probably not very often, right? Well, here’s your chance: The Boxers’ Trail Run, a 5K along Boxers’ Trail in Fairmount Park, is coming up September 13th, and you are invited.

During the 5K, runners will make their way through over three miles of Boxers’ Trail, a trail with some serious history: This particular strip of Fairmount Park has been known for generations as a favorite training ground for Philly boxers, including Frazier. And, apparently, Muhammad Ali even visited the trail when he wanted to track down Frazier for a challenge. See? History. If you’d love to check out the trail, but aren’t up for running, no worries—walkers are welcome to join in, too.

The 5K kicks off from Mander Playground at 33rd and Diamond Streets at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $20 for runners and $15 for walkers, and all proceeds go toward trail maintenance and restoration, and youth programming at Mander Recreation Center. You can register here. Happy trails!
