Love Run to Donate $20K to Philly Schools
Are you one of the 10,000 runners expected to turn out for the inaugural Love Run half marathon on Sunday? A portion of your registration fee is going to a good cause: the Philadelphia Education Supplies Fund, a campaign aimed at raising funds for school supplies for Philly schools.
Race organizers say they expect to cut a check for $20,000 for PESF, a mix of money earmarked from the race entry fee and additional donations proffered by runners. The check will be presented to mayor’s office on race day.
The fund is administered by United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.
