Nothing beats the energy in the air when the Broad Street Run is just around the corner. Am I the only one who notices that everyone suddenly becomes friendlier? Like, you’ll be riding the elevator with a stranger, make a comment about the fact that you like his running shoes, and suddenly you’re bonding over how your training for Broad Street is going. I love that.

Morgan’s Pier

Driving by Morgan’s Pier, the waterfront bar on Columbus Boulevard that overlooks the Delaware River, is so stinkin’ depressing in the winter: It’s all plywood and chain-link fence. But when the bar opens for the season, I maintain that it is the best place to get a Saturday or Sunday afternoon beer. And, hey, if you’re looking for a "healthy” reason to go, think about all the Vitamin D you’ll soak up while you sip.
