Sweat With Us: Be Well Philly Pop-up Workouts at the Flower Show!
Update, 3/28: Here’s a slo-mo video from the day of the event — did you make it in?
It’s been awhile since we’ve gotten together, Be Wellers, so pencil in Saturday, March 8th, for our next play date. I’m bringing a crew to the Philadelphia Flower Show for a one-day Be Well Philly pop-up event, sponsored by our friends at Independence Blue Cross!
Time: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; yoga starts at 10, boot camp at 11:15
Location: Room 204B on the Concourse, Pennsylvania Convention Center, 12th and Arch Streets.
Here’s what Be Well Philly @ The Flower Show will look like: We’ll be setting up shop starting bright and early at 8 a.m. when the Flower Show opens. We’ll have a table with prizes and giveaways, so be sure to pop by and say hello. We’ll also have a Slo Mo Video Booth (like a photo booth but So. Much. Better.) with all sorts of props for you to get your fun on.
Then, at 10 a.m., we’re bringing in DIG Yoga’s Nikki Robinson and Gina Stickney-Weddle to teach a free-of-charge, all-levels yoga class—right there at the Flower Show! At 11:15, we’ll be cranking up the sweat factor with another free pop-up workout: Boot camp with fab Philly personal trainer Holly Waters. Pretty awesome, right?
Both classes will be 45 minutes long, and you’ll need to bring your own mat for yoga. All you’ll need for Boot Camp are your sneakers and comfy workout clothes.
And I hope you’ll stick around and hear me lead a discussion at 1 p.m. on organic gardening at home. I’ll be chatting with local gardening experts Ryan Witmer of Philly Foodworks and Mike Krupit of Real Food Works on the whats, whys and hows of creating a killer backyard veggie garden. (My personal goal is to finally figure out how to keep my plants alive. Here’s hoping a black thumb can turn green in an hour.)
Simply fill out the RSVP form below so we can get a headcount, then head over to the Philadelphia Flower Show’s website to get a ticket. (They’re $27 in advance, or $32 at the door, so get yours ahead of time.) Once you’re in the door, all our pop-up goodness is on the house.
Can’t wait to see you there!
