New Kettlebell Class Kicks Off on the Main Line This Week
For me, kettlebells are the kind of gym equipment I look at and know I should be using, but since I haven’t the faintest idea of where to start with them, I usually wimp out and just stick to free weights. If you’re anything like me, pay attention: There’s a new class hitting the Main Line this week that will break down exactly how to use kettlebells and how to get the most out of a kettlebell workout.
It’s called “Killing it With Kettlebells” (ha!), and the class will be taught by instructor Dan Williams, the yogi/trainer I gave a Best of Be Well award to this year for his terrific Yoga for Athletes class at Verge Yoga. The kettlebell class will operate out of Nackord Karate System in Wayne’s Gateway Shopping Center (125 East Swedesford Road). The eight-week series, which kicks off tomorrow, will approach group kettlebell training with a prescribed curriculum—meaning you’ll learn the basics and build on them week to week, rather than jumping into the workout whole hog from the get-go. In addition to working with kettlebells, you’ll also do some body-weight exercises and yoga for a balanced workout.
The class is $145 for the series or $20 for drop-ins. Learn more and sign up here.
