Beat indoor boredom with these fun group classes

If the snowy, ice-covered streets and sub-zero temps have chased you indoors, I have good news: Group treadmill classes, like the four below, are popping up around town. Whether you’re a runner who wants to stay in shape for the spring or a walker who loses interest after five minutes of mind-numbing treading, these classes will keep you working hard and having fun this winter. — Research by Kelsey Stone and Samantha Gray

Indoor Running
Get up early for this 6 a.m., 60-minute Monday class with Shannon. It’s designed to kick-start a new runner’s program as well as keep pros in shape during the long winter months.

Wonder Trek
Join Holly on Mondays from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. for this cardio-weights combo class. You’ll test speed on both the treadmill and indoor mini-track, build quad strength with lunges, squats and high-incline intervals on the treadmill, and build strength with lots of plyometrics and kettlebell work. Tread Run
Think variation is impossible when you’re stuck inside? The Tread Run at Ironworks Fitness offers 35-minute treadmill class will help fight boredom with interval training, incline running, and more. Tred Training
Sprints will build speed, endurance and torch calories, while challenging incline work will build hamstring and quad strength.
