Pedicure
La Spa Arabesque
21 East State Street, Doylestown; 215-345-6994
Head to this cozy, full-service Bucks County beauty retreat for owner Judith D’Andrea-Fisher’s impeccable, long-lasting and utterly blissful pedicures. Sink into an oversized white armchair as she begins with a sugar scrub massage, followed by a rinse in rose-infused water, after which your feet are wrapped in hot towels and slathered in body butter. Three coats of Opi nail color plus a top coat are standard with the Exclusive service ($45). The Exquisite treatment includes a hydrating paraffin dip and marine foot and leg mask ($60).
Belly Dancing
Koresh School of Dance
2020 Chestnut Street, 215-751-0959; koreshdance.org.
Why not try belly dancing to tone the midriff? Core strength (think Pilates) is developed through movements targeting each section of the abs; hips, thighs and arms also get a workout during choreographed dances set to Middle Eastern rhythms. Three classes for all levels ($13 per class)—taught by accomplished performer/instructors Azhia and Galilah—are offered weekly.
Facial
RejuvinEssence
Valley Court Yard, 2535 Huntingdon Pike, Huntingdon Valley; 215-938-6000
The Sun-Kissed Sea Facial ($135) is the next best thing to a beach getaway. Owner Patti Darragh has created a 90-minute head-to-toe experience that’s heavenly. First, a refreshing grapefruit-and-orange cleanser awakens the senses, followed by a Vitamin C mask to repair and protect the skin. Then a potpourri of essential oils (lavender, avocado, rose) is massaged into the face with warm, liquid-filled globes. Finally, feet are treated to an invigorating rubdown with a sweet-smelling mango moisturizer and hot stones.
