Kristen Bell Proposes to (Fiancé) Dax Shepard (On Twitter) Now That DOMA Is Gone
It’s definitely been a thing, the past however many years, for some celebs—who are either in a longterm relationship, or who are technically engaged—to say that they are going to hold off on actually tying the knot until everyone is able to do the same, referring to some states’ bans on same-sex marriage.
Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend used to say that when they were still together. It’s definitely something we’ve heard out of the mouths of Brangelina. And Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, even though they’ve been technically engaged since 2009 (and welcomed their first munchkin earlier this year!), have always said the same thing when asked about when they were going to finally tie the knot: “I don’t feel appropriate taking advantage of a right that’s denied to my [gay and lesbian] friends,” Bell once said.
And so, yesterday, when DOMA was struck down, Bell Tweeted a little special something to her beau: a marriage proposal!
It seems like he accepted, so now, all we’ve got to do it sit back and wait for the dress. We like them.
