Comcast Helps NBC Finally Climb Out of the Ratings Basement

You may have been too busy watching The Voice this season to realized that NBC is kicking ass in the ratings. Comcast’s television limb has climbed out of its perennial spot in the ratings basement thanks like deciding to not continue The Playboy Club, doubling down on the success of mainstays like The Voice, and the introduction of Revolution, the only new, network drama to actually resonate with anyone this year.

At this point last season, NBC’s Monday consisted of two hours of “The Sing-Off” and a new drama, “The Playboy Club.” That lineup averaged 4.4 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 audience. This year’s lineup has averaged 11.3 million viewers and a 4.2 rating. [New York Times]
