Local Musician Found Dead. A prominent guitarist in Bucks County was found dead yesterday. Police are investigating the death of 56-year-old Danny DeGennaro of Levittown. DeGennaro played guitar with Clarence Clemons, Kingfish and the Danny DeGennaro band. [NBC Philadelphia]

Former Darby Cop Charged With Sexual Assault. A former cop in Darby Township—and current elected constable in Chester—has been charged with rape, stalking and related charges. He’s said to have used his position of authority to coerce sexual favors from women in his former police station. [FOX 29]
Mummers Have to Be Frugal for 2012 Parade. Brigades preparing for Sunday’s Mummers parade are pinching pennies as support for the event has dwindled. As the economy receded, many brigades dropped out and over the past few years participation has eroded. Sears Announces Two Local Closures. Sears—which earlier this week announced that 100-120 Sears and Kmart stores will close—has identified 79 of the locations that will cease to operate. The Sears stores in Upper Darby and in Pottstown will both shut, though it has not been announced when the stores will stop operating. [FOX 29]
