Environmental Report Says Philly’s Air is Dirtier Than We Thought
A report had shown that the greater Philly area had the fifth worst air in the nation with 29 smog days and three red-alert days. Now, PennEnvironment’s new report shows that the air quality standards set forth in 2008 set the bar too low and that there were more bad days than originally tallied. Lancaster, Allentown and Reading didn’t post very good numbers either, in respect to mid-sized metropolitan areas and Pittsburgh ranked 13th worst in the nation among major cities. The Scoop can’t wait to get outside and take a deep breath of that fresh Pennsylvania air. [Houston Chronicle]
