Film: Tomboy
The French coming of age film explores gender identity
If you missed this French film at the festivals this year, it’s playing at the Ritz at the Bourse. Tomboy focuses on Laure, a girl who passes for a boy in a new neighborhood. Renaming herself Mikael, she finds ways of hiding her gender while exploring what it means to make friends and accept the complicated relationship between one’s body and mind.
