Final Four Tasting Tours Now On Sale


As part of Philly Cooks Week, we’ll be offering unprecedented access to Philadelphia’s top kitchens and culinary masters like Jose GarcesKonstantinos Pitsillides and Jeremy Nolen through three nights of Tasting Tours. On February, 25th to 27th we’ll be offering three unique tours a night. The first five tours have sold quickly. Today the final four tours are announced, act quickly.

Tuesday, February 26th Rittenhouse Tour #2

5:15-7:45

Stop 1: Zama. Get rolling (sushi, that is) with chef Zama at the sushi counter, sip on saketinis.

Stop 2: Lacroix. What would fried chicken taste like from the expert chefs at Lacroix? Find out. The sommelier will present his favorite comfort food pairing — fried chicken and champagne.

Stop 3. Il Pittore. Pasta aficionado Chris Painter will let you in on all his gnocchi making secrets, as you drink wine from Italy’s Arneis region.

Tuesday, February 26th Washington Square West Tour

5:15-7:45

Stop 1: Kanella. Talk and taste traditional Greek mezze with chef Konstantinos Pitsillides.

Stop 2: Talula’s Garden.  Take a Cheese 101 class with Queen of Curds Aimee Olexy, and explore why bubbly drinks and cheese are a match made in heaven.

Stop 3: Chifa. Head to the downstairs lounge at Chifa where our beloved Iron Chef, Jose Garces will be waiting to meet you. Watch a dumpling demo, sip on Chifa-favorite tequila cocktail, Inigo Montoya.

Wednesday, February 27th South Street Tour

5:15-7:45

Stop 1: Supper. Make and sample deviled eggs with chef Mitch Prensky, and sip on one of Supper’s favorite cocktails.

Stop 2: Percy Street. Get a tour of the big red smokers with chef Erin O’Shea, sample some of their crafty canned beers (they have one of the largest selections anywhere) and make your own bbq sandwiches.

Stop 3: Brauhaus Schmitz. Chef Jeremy Nolen will walk you through all the different types of German sausages. Wash it down with some Deutschland ales.

Wednesday, February 27th Fishtown Tour

5:15-7:45

Stop 1: Kraftwork. Chef Brian Lofink will make his beloved winter gnocchi dish, while drink expert Tom Flannery will mix up their new Cool Hand Luke cocktail. You’ll get both.

Stop 2: Fette Sau. Learn all about Fette Sau’s meats, from where they come from to how they smoke them. Then, eat them up. Plus, a whiskey primer and tasting.

Stop 3. Frankford Hall. Sample Frankford Hall’s array of sausages, drink some fine German beer.
