Lovely Bride Is Now Open in Philadelphia
{Editor’s Note: This story originally appeared in the fall/winter 2013 issue of Philadelphia Wedding. Update: Lovely Bride is now officially open for business!}
This summer will see the opening of Lovely Bride in Old City, the store’s third location, joining outposts in New York and Los Angeles.
The local shop will be owned by Ivy Kaplin, a Bryn Mawr native who was looking to start a fashion business at the same time the boutique was looking to expand. The charming space will carry wedding gowns from designers such as Lea-Ann Belter, Ivy & Aster and Sarah Seven that top out around $5,000, as well as veils, jewelry and headpieces.
Brides are matched with a stylist for their appointments, and you and your entourage are shown around the space before the trying-on begins. The goal, says Kaplin, is to welcome brides into an atmosphere that feels like home, with people in it who feel like friends. That, and to help you find the perfect dress, of course. They recommend an outside tailor; consultations are by appointment only.
