Report: Babin out 2-3 weeks
An MRI revealed that Eagles defensive end Jason Babin has a second-degree right calf strain and will miss two to three weeks, according to Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com.
Babin went down during one-on-one offensive lineman/defensive lineman drills on Saturday, while going up against Todd Herremans.
Assuming he’s healthy for the regular season, losing Babin during training camp and at least part of the preseason is not a huge deal. He has more experience working with Jim Washburn than any other Eagles defensive lineman and is coming off an 18-sack season.
Since Babin’s gone down, the Eagles have used a couple different guys at the left defensive end spot with the first team. Cullen Jenkins, who generally lines up inside at defensive tackle, saw some reps at end earlier this week. And yesterday, Brandon Graham got a shot.
