To Do: Bike Philly 2011
Ever wish you could ride a bike through Philly streets on car-free roads? You’ll soon have your chance.
The annual Bike Philly city ride returns on Sunday, September 11th. Starting at 8 a.m., miles of city roads will be closed to cars as thousands of area cyclists embark on 10 and 20 mile rides on car-free streets. The routes start and end at the Art Museum steps, where the Finish Line Festival—complete with food, music, and bike vendors—will take place starting at 9 a.m. The 10-mile route goes through Center City, Chinatown and Old City before heading up to Fairmount Park and passing the zoo. The 20-mile route continues through the park and along the Schuylkill and up to the Mount Pleasant mansion.
The ride costs $40 for adults, $15 for students, and $5 for kids; Bicycle Coalition members receive a discounted rate. Go here to register; find out more information over here.
