Yes, Philly Is Getting More Snow Monday Night (and Tuesday)

Enjoy waking up to the snow on Monday? Great — because we’re getting some more.
Forecasters say another winter storm will hit on Monday evening and continue into Tuesday morning — and this one could be “significant.” Philadelphia public schools have already issued a two-hour delay for Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, the Philadelphia region will likely see “a wide variety” of precipitation types — snow, sleet, freezing rain — throughout the impending storm. As of 4:30 p.m. on Monday, the organization said to expect between 1 to 3 inches of total snow and sleet accumulation by Tuesday afternoon, when the storm is expected to wind down.
What will start as a wintry mix before 9 p.m. on Monday will likely change to snow by 4 a.m. on Tuesday. After then, prepare again for the mix: snow, freezing rain and sleet.
That will continue until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, as the high rises to 42 degrees Fahrenheit. The good news? Little or no ice accumulation is expected. The bad news? The NWS still warns of potentially hazardous road conditions during the Tuesday morning and Tuesday evening commutes. Expect slippery roads and limited visibility, and use caution while driving.
