Believe it or Not, The Couple Behind This Dreamy Garden Wedding Actually Met on MySpace

Featuring: pretty pastels, a donut wall, and flowers galore.

In the days of Bumble and Tinder and everything else under the sun, it’s oddly refreshing to hear a tale of true love that started on the OG social media site: Myspace. Read on to find out more about the sweet story of Kelsey Kastrava and Michael Turk, who met online and then, twelve years later, got married in a totally dreamy spring garden wedding. Their big day was designed and brought to life by Clover Event Co. at The Old Mill in Rose Valley Pennsylvania, and captured in gorgeous photography by Magdalena Studios.

The couple met online, like many couples do these days. The difference is that since they met 12 years ago at the age of 16, they met on MySpace. (Kelsey came across Mike’s profile and was the first to add him as a friend) The two began talking, exchanged phone numbers and eventually they planned their first date.

Kelsey and Mike spent their first date walking around and talking, and ended up sharing a fast-casual and teenage romantic meal at Taco Bell. Mike immediately thought he was “out of his league and in over his head” and Kelsey thought he was even better looking in person. The date was perfect for two 16-year-olds first learning about falling in love. At the end of the night, the two shared their first kiss together. (Swoon!)

The first kiss magic was real. The pair stayed together for another decade, dating ten years before Mike planned to pop the question. He knew the perfect place to do it: Kelsey’s family’s rented beach house in Long Beach Island, NJ. Her mom’s entire side of the family (20+ relatives) have spent a week in LBI every year for the last three decades, and, since her grandparents had recently passed, this was supposed to be the last year everyone was doing it.

When they arrived at the shore house with the family, it was pouring rain. Once it subsided, Mike asked Kelsey if she wanted to take a walk on the beach. She hesitantly agreed, since it had just stormed outside. Mike convinced her to head down regardless and as they did, they realized there was a rainbow in the sky. At that moment, Mike got down on one knee and proposed. Kelsey gushed “Yes!” and texted her mom who was back at the house. Within seconds, the whole family was waving and screaming congratulations from the deck of the house. It was a perfect moment.

They were engaged for two years before their wedding, which was beautifully planned by Clover Event Co. to have an “old world garden party” aesthetic, including fun vintage rentals from Something Borrowed Philly. The pair hosted 165 guests at their spring celebration. “Our beautiful bridesmaids and handsome groomsmen felt like the statement centerpieces to the entire wedding by donning dusty pastel colors like mauve blush, sage green, gray blue mixed with pops of vibrant peachy pinks and bright lavender,” says Kelsey.

The couple shared their first dance to “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles Cover)” by Sleeping at Last. Guests enjoyed delicious appetizers like bacon-wrapped scallops and grilled teriyaki salmon brochettes, a family-style dinner, and sipped their signature limoncello gin collins cocktail. After having a fabulous evening with friends and family, the couple headed to St. Lucia for their honeymoon. They then returned to their home in Gibbstown, New Jersey, where Kelsey works as Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement of Cabrini University, and Mike works as Assistant Logistics Manger of Atlantic Cigar Company.
