Police Offer $5,000 Reward in 50-Car Tire Slashing on the Main Line
Officials say 132 tires were damaged in an incident they have termed a “high-dollar-amount crime.”

You might have woken up on New Year’s Day with a dry mouth and a bit of a headache, but you probably had a better morning than some residents in a tony section of Tredyffrin Township on the Main Line. Police say that a vandal slashed 132 tires overnight, and now a $5,000 reward is being offered to catch the culprit.
The incident affected many residents in an area centered on the intersection of Hollow Road and King of Prussia Road in the Wayne section of Tredyffrin Township. It’s a wealthy, quiet neighborhood with lots of big houses and pools, surrounded dense patches of trees. The exclusive St. Davids Golf Club sits around the corner.
Detectives from the Tredyffrin Township Police Department say that some 50 cars were damaged.
One local resident told NBC 10 that her husband woke up on New Year’s Day, determined to fulfill his New Year’s resolution by going for a morning run, only to discover that the tires on his brand-new car were slashed.
On Wednesday morning, police released the above surveillance video of the suspect. It’s not a great video. It shows what appears to be a thin, white male walking along a fence line.
“This is a high-dollar-amount crime, so we’re very interested in finding this person,” Tredyffrin Township Police Lt. Tim Brown told CBS 3.
