Fashion Is for The Birds
Be the toast of the tailgate with this exclusive line launched by Mary Dougherty’s Nicole Miller Philadelphia. Rich leather jackets, skirts, clutches and gloves (in green or black) are hand-embellished with the symbol of champions. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough? Take a Good Whiff
Toxins are out when it comes to the beauty world, so natural perfumes have become all the rage. And Free People’s version — the “1809 Collection” all-natural, plant-based fragrance line — was released just last month. (We’re feeling the local love: “1809” is a nod to the address of the brand’s first office, on Walnut Street.) The three earthy scents feature soothing notes like eucalyptus, sandalwood, ylang-ylang and vetiver. $28 at Free People, multiple locations.
A Facial Where?!
Apparently, facials are no longer just for your face. Manayunk newcomer Brooklyn Wax (which is co-owned by the wife of former Packers player Jahri Evans) is making itself known with its $55 V-Facials (yup, V for vagina) and $45 Shiney Hiney B-Facials (you know what the B stands for). Both services include steams, masks, and exfoliation to help with ingrown hairs, acne or unevenness in those special areas. The Main Line’s Newest Shop
Villanova native Sandy Edelstein (an alum of Ella’s Grove in Haverford) just opened upscale women’s boutique Grove 121 in Bryn Mawr. The corner shop has plush fitting rooms, beauty and home goods (like candles and facial oils and serums) and a mix of European labels: Rosemunde layering basics from Copenhagen, and travel-friendly stretch pants from Anatomie that could give Lululemon Wunder Unders a run for their money. 821 West Lancaster Avenue, Bryn Mawr.
