Amis Brings Back Hits from The Astral Plane’s Menu for One Night Only
Is there a Philly restaurant you loved that’s now long gone? Amis just might bring it back with their Legacy Series, a slate of one-night-only pop-ups featuring erstwhile stars of the city’s dining scene.
And they’re kicking off the series with an homage to The Astral Plane on October 10th.
Reed Apaghian and Tom Boyer, former owners of The Astral Plane, will join Brad Spence and Drew DiTomo in the kitchen at Amis to resurrect some old favorites from the restaurant, which was open from 1973 until 2007 at 1708 Lombard Street. (Keen, the latest concept slated to take over that space, is still working to open.)
They’ll be serving dishes like the Maxfields Blue Cheese Salad with spinach, apples, walnuts, red onion and a dijon vinaigrette, Clams Posilippo — cooked in red wine, garlic and fresh herbs — and Queen Mother’s Cake, a flourless chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.
The throwback prixe fixe menu is only available the evening of October 10th for $65 per person, not including tax and gratuity. Make your reservation by clicking here or calling 215-732-2647.
