Free Yoga, Kickboxing and Dance: Here’s When Wellness Wednesdays Are Back

Get excited, everyone: The Oval, which takes over Eakins Oval every summer, is bringing back Wellness Wednesdays this month. And you know what that means: Free workouts galore! (In case you don’t already have enough outdoor workouts penciled into your calendar.)

Programming for The Oval’s summer festivities (think: food trucks, outdoor movies, and DJ’d dance parties) will kick off on July 20th, marking its 5th summer. Then Wellness Wednesdays will start the next week, with the first week of classes — Power Yoga brought to you by Yoga Habit at 6 p.m., followed by a dance party workout with Philly Dance Fitness at 7 p.m. — being held on July 26th. What’s better than downward dogs with Art Museum views? Not much, we say.

Wellness Wednesdays will run through August 16th, with the schedule changing throughout the week. In addition to Yoga Habit and Philly Dance Fitness, there will be classes from CKO Kickboxing and CoreFitness. There’s no need to sign up ahead of time for the classes; just show up ready to sweat. But do note: For some of the classes, like kickboxing, equipment is limited, so you might want to get there a few minutes early to snag your punching bag.
