Barbuzzo Debuts Salted Caramel Budino Choco Taco, Gives Us Life
We’re rarely optimistic about the week ahead on a gray Monday morning like this, but a ray of hope just peeked through the clouds: Barbuzzo’s newest budino-based dessert is the Frozen Salted Caramel Budino Stuffed Choco Taco, and it’s available this Friday only.
This time, chef Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran have filled a chocolate-dipped homemade waffle cone with frozen salted caramel budino pudding, topping the confection with a sprinkle of pecan toffee crunch and a few grains of fleur de sel. It’ll set you back $6.50 (cash only), which seems like a bargain for a few minutes of frosty, chocolate-covered joy.
Sales will start at 11 a.m. this Friday, May 5th, at the duo’s second floor private event space directly above Barbuzzo at 110 South 13th Street, and go until sellout (expect a line).
Turney and Safran had a hit with the pudding-like salted caramel budino when Barbuzzo opened in 2010 and have played with limited edition, highly craveworthy variations in the past, like the frozen budino pop and last fall’s frozen budino popover.
If this news isn’t good enough to pull you through the end of the week, nothing will.
