Eagles-Washington Inactives: Brandon Brooks Out
Brandon Brooks is surprisingly inactive for the Eagles’ game against Washington today after he began suffering from an illness in the morning. He was also unavailable when Philadelphia played Green Bay two weeks ago due to an illness he incurred shortly before that game. Rookie third-round pick Isaac Seumalo will start in Brooks’ place at right guard.
Dorial Green-Beckham (abdomen) is inactive as well, while Jordan Matthews will play despite his ankle injury. Kenjon Barner, Kamu Grugier-Hill, Dillon Gordon, Halapoulivaati Vaitai and Taylor Hart are also inactive for the Birds. Ryan Mathews will play in his first game since injuring his knee three weeks ago against the Seahawks, but Barner — one of the Eagles two starting kick returners — is out for the first time this season.
As for Washington, three starters — left guard Shawn Lauvao, center Spencer Long and strong safety Will Blackmon — are inactive. Quarterback Nate Sudfield, wide receiver Rashad Ross, running back Matt Jones and defensive end Anthony Lanier II are also inactive for Washington.
