A Day in the Life: Fashion Maven Beth Buccini
You’ve likely heard Beth Buccini’s name before—whether it’s being touted alongside her über-successful boutiques, Kirna Zabête, or simply because her standout style is regularly photographed. What you probably don’t know, though, is that the fashion maven is also a local gal, taking up residence in nearby Chadds Ford with her husband and four children. She also just opened the newest outpost of Kirna Zabête in Bryn Mawr. This month, we chatted with Buccini to get the scoop on her closet workhorses, her favorite eccentric accessories and this year’s holiday card.
I wake up at 5 a.m. If I’m not heading to our Soho store, I get some work done at home in Chadds Ford and drink coffee in peace before the kid chaos begins. We’re out the door at 7 a.m. for school drop-off. After, I head straight to my office in the Bryn Mawr Kirna Zabête store.
I use Serge Normant Volumizing Spray for my pixie-cut hair. It provides the right amount of volume and texture but maintains the softness I like.
Leopard prints and stripes dominate my closet. I’ve started to think of these wardrobe staples as neutrals.
My gold bracelet is so meaningful to me; it has four hearts engraved with each of my children’s initials and date of birth. I’ve been reading The Alchemist because my oldest daughter had to read it for school and I wanted to discuss it with her.
I really admire TPD Design House in Wayne. I’m a sucker for a great card, and they have such a standout selection. The owner, Vanessa, is so talented and does my custom holiday cards every year. Wild Thyme is an amazing gem of a flower and gift shop in Centerville, Delaware. The owner, Laurie, has the best, wackiest taste, and I always find the perfect hostess presents here.
The best way to de-stress is horseback riding with my daughter on our three horses: Let’s Boogie, Monkey and Miss Piggy. I’ve been riding on and off for my entire life.
For lunch with my girlfriends, I go to Autograph in Wayne. I order their omelet (it’s made with bacon-onion jam, goat cheese, spinach, fingerling potatoes and oven-dried tomatoes) with a side of fries.
I’m currently obsessed with this new line — Of Rare Origin. It’s helmed by a mother-daughter team who make exquisite earrings that look like vintage birdcages.
