Eagles vs. Giants Game Updates
The Eagles travel up I-95 North to take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in the first of two meetings between the teams. The Eagles look to go 5-3 on the season and stay in the hunt for the NFC East crown. We’ll periodically update this thread throughout the game with highlights and drive summaries. 4:21 – TURNOVER ON DOWNS: Jordan Matthews cannot make the catch in the endzone on a fade. Looked over the wrong shoulder. The Giants will win the game, 28-23. The Eagles fall to 4-4 on the season.
4:19 – Eagles take their final timeout with 1:28 left in the game. Fourth and 10 from the Giants’ 17.
4:14 – INTERCEPTION: Jordan Hicks makes a huge pick and the Eagles are a touchdown away from leading the game at the Giants’ 34 with 1:48 left.

4:05 – FIELD GOAL: Caleb Sturgis hits a 38-yard try. The Eagles trail the Giants, 28-23, with 3:51 left in the game.
4:02 – The Eagles convert on fourth down. Jordan Matthews gets a big catch at the New York 21.
3:58 – The Eagles’ defense forces a big three-and-out and will take over at the New York 47 yard line after a bad punt.
3:56 – Jason Peters has a thumb injury, but will return.

3:41 – FIELD GOAL: Sturgis makes a 26-yard try and the Eagles trail the Giants, 28-20, with 12:01 to go in the game.
3:36 – END OF THE THIRD QUARTER: The Eagles trail the Giants, 28-17. Eagles are in Giants territory looking for a touchdown in a very important drive.
3:25 – Eagles are challenging the ruling on the field of an incomplete pass as a catch and fumble. The call stands as an incomplete pass.
3:14 – Safety Terrence Brooks is doubtful to return with a hamstring injury.

3:12 – TOUCHDOWN: Sterling Shepard scores for a 32-yard score. Malcolm Jenkins was covering him, but was beat. Giants lead, 28-17, with 7:41 left in the third.
3:01 – TOUCHDOWN: Kenjon Barner runs the ball in from four yards out after a great opening drive by the offense. Sturgis makes the extra point, as the Eagles cut the Giants lead to 21-17 with 12:17 left in the third quarter.

2:10 – TOUCHDOWN: Manning finds Beckham for his second touchdown of the day. Easily beats McKelvin, who hasn’t had a good game today. Was also beat on a deep pass by Victor Cruz earlier in the drive. Giants lead, 21-10, with 9:28 left in the half.
2:03 – Rodney McLeod looks like he had an interception off of Manning, but the turnover was overturned. Jalen Mills was hurt on that play as well.

1:56 – TOUCHDOWN: Ryan Mathews runs it in from the left side of the field for an eight-yard score. Giants looking for a hold on Burton, but no call. Big play by Bryce Treggs deep for 58 yards set up the score. Eagles trail, 14-10, with 12:11 left in the first half.
1:52 – Eagles’ defense is starting to get in the swing of things with another three-and-out. Cornerbacks are also rotating.

1:12 – TOUCHDOWN: Eli Manning finds Odell Beckham for 26 yards for the first score of the game. Giants lead, 7-0 with 12:27 left in the opening quarter.
1:10 – INTERCEPTION: Carson Wentz throws it to Landon Collins, looks like it was intended for Nelson Agholor. Giants take over at the Eagle 27.
1:09 – Eagles force the Giants on a three-and-out. Eagles will start at their own 28 yard line.
1:04 – Eagles win the coin toss and defer to the second half. Giants will begin on offense. We’re underway at MetLife Stadium.
