Eagles Receiver Josh Huff Arrested, Per Report
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Josh Huff was arrested on the Walt Whitman Bridge Tuesday morning for speeding, while in possession of marijuana and a gun, according to CBS Philly.
It’s currently unknown if the gun is registered and if Huff has a permit for it. According to the report, the Camden County Prosecutor’s office is investigating.
“We are aware of the incident today involving Josh Huff,” the Eagles told Philadelphia magazine in an official team statement. “At this point, we are gathering more information.”
The Eagles drafted the 25-year-old Texas native in the third round in 2014 out of Oregon. He’s caught 13 passes for 72 yards and one touchdown through seven games this season. He also leads the NFL in kick return average (36.0 yards) among players with more than three returns, is one of two players to return a kickoff for a touchdown this season and ranks first in Eagles history with 27.7 yards per kick return in his career.
Huff is the most recent Eagle to be arrested since Nigel Bradham was arrested twice in four months. In July, the Eagles linebacker allegedly assaulted a hotel employee in Miami. According to the Miami-Dade County Criminal Justice Online System, Bradham will have a hearing for his felony charge on January 17 at 9:30 a.m. He was also arrested in October when airport security found a loaded gun in his possession. Bradham’s arraignment hearing for his misdemeanor concealed weapon charge is Wednesday at 9 a.m.
It’s unclear if this will impact the Eagles’ attempt to trade for a receiver before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. (EST) deadline.
We’ll update this post as we learn more information.
