SEPTA Regional Rail Is Delayed, Again

Passengers were stranded for as long as three hours during the evening commute yesterday due to power issues. Expect continued delays this morning.

Commuters are seeing SEPTA Regional Rail delays this morning following power problems that occurred yesterday evening during the rush hour commute.

Passengers on two trains on the Paoli/Thorndale line were stuck on board for as long as three hours yesterday after malfunctioning overhead wires forced the trains to ground to a halt after 5 p.m., according to NBC10. Passengers were stranded near the Malvern and Thorndale stations.

At least four trains along the line were canceled this morning because of remaining issues. Many others were reporting significant delays of up to 40 minutes. Delays are to be expected as workers fix the damaged wires.

Some Amtrak trains along the line are currently suspended as well, NBC10 reports.

Many passengers complained to NBC10 about the power outages last night, which reportedly caused trains to lose electricity and air conditioning in the heat.
