And they tell us they have a fun (free!) outdoor workout planned for September to get folks excited about the opening. Stay tuned for more info on that, fitness junkies.

Solidcore

Solidcore
Where: 725 Chestnut Street, Washington Square West
Target opening: Mid-September

We’ve been waiting QUITE some time for this killer Pilates-inspired reformer workout to make its way to Philly (we first told you about the D.C.-based studio’s plans to expand to our fair city back in January, after all), and it looks like the time is finally coming: The folks at Solidcore tell us they should have doors open to their first Philly studio by early to mid-September. Woop, woop!

Fit Academy
Where: 3050 West Master Street, Brewerytown
Target opening: Late September

This new studio, helmed by Osayi Osunde of the Art Museum’s super-fun boot camps (and recent Best of Philly winner!), will be the first brick-and-mortar location for Fit Academy. Osunde plans to bring a slew of trainers in to offer a wide-ranging schedule of group fitness classes, from Tabata to yoga for athletes to body-area-specific fitness classes (think: classes that zone in on your butt and belly).

CycleBar
Where: 124 Woodcutter Street, Exton
Target opening: October 3rd

First we (finally) got a Philly-area SoulCycle and now another cycling studio with locations across the country is setting up shop in the area with a studio in Exton. Boston-based CycleBar calls itself a luxury cycling studio (expect perks like a complimentary water bottle with your ride, snacks, and snazzy locker rooms) that offers four types of rides: Classic, Performance, Connect (a ride that blends yoga and cycling — interesting, eh?) and themed rides.

Unite Fitness Main Line
Where: 707 West Lancaster Avenue, Wayne
Target opening: Early fall

Yep, the folks at Unite Fitness are on an expansion roll: This new two-floor studio, which will bring their count of studios to three, will be a franchise location that will fit 25 sweaty humans per class. Suburbanites, get ready to sweat!

Barre3

Barre3

Barre3
Where: 1500 Sansom Street, Center City
Target opening: November

Barre addicts, rejoice! This Portland-based barre-studio franchise is making its way to Center City with a studio slated to open on Sansom Street in November. And the good news is, you don’t have to wait until then to get your Barre3 fix without driving to the ‘burbs: The studio is holding free classes at Athleta on Walnut Street every Thursday and Sunday through August.

City Fitness Fishtown
Where: 1424-34 Frankford Avenue, Fishtown
Target opening: Early December

We told you guys about City Fitness’ expansion to Fishtown back when there was still snow on the ground. So yes, we’ve all been holding our breath for a while now. They’d originally hoped to have the new two-floor gym open by summer but, as things tend to go with new construction, the timeline got pushed back. But the time is near, Fishtown gym rats: They tell us they’re aiming for a December 1st opening and they’ll be slinging pre-sale memberships after Labor Day. And pssst: In case you missed it, City Fitness will also be opening a giant 40,000-square-foot fitness club in Center City come winter of next year.

SoulCycle Center City
Where: 113 South 16th Street, Center City
Target opening: Late December

Center City-ites, rejoice! Come winter, you won’t have to hoof it out to the newly opened Ardmore SoulCycle to get your fill of the cult-followed workout. SoulCycle has plans to set up shop with a snazzy two-floor studio in the building that now houses furniture store Usona. Yippee!

Philly Foodie Openings to Be Excited About

Real Food Eatery
Where: 207 South 16th Street, Rittenhouse
Target opening: Opened Late July

Okay, okay, so this spot is actually already open, but they just opened their doors two weeks ago. Think of this fast-casual eatery as a Boston Market that you won’t feel guilty hitting up after the gym. They’re all about serving up homestyle food that starts with nutrition — to wit: their recipes were designed by Sarah Ginn, a chef with a degree in human nutrition — AND tastes good. And they’re keeping it simple: Most of their food (think: sides like roasted broccoli topped with parmesan, quinoa salad and roasted sweet potatoes) is made with around five or fewer ingredients.

b.good
Where: 200 West Main Street, King of Prussia
Target opening: August 16th

This healthy fast-food joint will be opening its fourth Philly-area outpost later this month, this one at the King of Prussia Town Center. And if you’re wondering what, exactly, healthy fast food looks like, it looks like a menu featuring a mix of Kale & Grain Bowls, burgers made with local, house-ground beef and a slew of seasonal salads, like Watermelon & Feta. Mmmmm.

Stripp’d Juice
Where: 1424-34 Frankford Avenue, Fishtown
Target opening: Early December

As we (very excitedly) told you guys back in April, with City Fitness’ Fishtown addition comes a Stripp’d Juice location. Now, excuse us while we go dream about their Jala at Ya Boy green juice for the rest the afternoon.
