Milkboy South Street Is Opening Next Week
The original Chestnut Street Milkboy location has been up and running for a long time, but now the partners are announcing that their new location, Milkboy South Street, is opening to the public on Tuesday, August 2 at the corner of 4th and South.
The chef is Chris Beyer, ex of the Garces Group, who’ll be putting together a menu of “amped and elevated bar fare.” The new location will feature big glass garage doors on the first floor, opening onto a 12-seat downstairs bar. Outdoor seating is coming (at some later date), but they’ve already got a takeout window and table service settled.
Upstairs? A bigger bar–24 stools with custom flip-down tables and space for live music. There’ll be an “accomplished” cocktail program (no menu yet), and 6 draft lines (one nitro) pouring all Pennsylvania beers.
If the space seems familiar, this is the former Lickety Split space, which got Bar Rescue’d a while back, turned into a bi-level concept (Alleged Pizza on the bottom, which was just GREAT thinking when it came to the name, and 2nd State Lounge up top), and closed soon after. Partners Bill Hanson, Tommy Joyner and Kamie Lokoff picked it up, turned it into their second Milkboy location, and it will now be open 7 days a week, from 11am-2am.
