A man visiting Philadelphia was struck and killed by a SEPTA train around 5 p.m. yesterday at the 13th Street Station.
The man, identified by family members and authorities as 55-year-old Woodrow Jackson of Cibolo, Texas, was with his wife and had just visited the Liberty Bell when he apparently fell onto the tracks on the westbound side at 13th Street Station, the Inquirer reports. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident halted the Market-Frankford Line as SEPTA shut off power between 30th Street and Spring Garden stations. Shuttle buses were deployed for the afternoon commute until around 6:20 p.m.

Jackson had recently returned from a trip to Disney World with his grandkids. His wife was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for shock, according to the Associated Press.
It’s still not clear how Jackson ended up on the tracks. SEPTA is reviewing surveillance footage.
