Original Story
The Eagles agreed to terms for a multi-year deal with former Chiefs quarterback Chase Daniel, ESPN reported. Peter Schrager of FOX Sports tweeted that the contract is for three years.
With the addition of Daniel, Mark Sanchez will likely be cut. The Eagles would save $3.5 million by releasing Sanchez instead of keeping him on the roster.
Daniel spent the last three seasons in Kansas City as a backup under then-offensive coordinator Doug Pederson. The Eagles’ new head coach praised Daniel at the NFL Combine a couple of weeks ago.
“I think Chase, given an opportunity, yes, I think he can be [a starting quarterback],” Pederson said. “People that have worked with him for the last three years know that he has an opportunity there and hopefully he gets his chance.”
