After Winter Storm Jonas: Drone Video Showcases “Snowy Philadelphia”
You may have heard (or seen) that it snowed quite a bit over the weekend. So much so that the blizzard even had a name, Jonas.
All joking (and Weezer references) aside, it’s clear that the citizens of Philadelphia loved the winter weather, even if they’re still not fully dug out in a lot cases. Droves of people got outside and built snowmen (including Connor Barwin), chucked snowballs (even at reporters) and took to any semblance of a hill with a sled for some old-fashioned fun.
Matt Satell, owner of drone company Philly By Air, took to the skies to capture the Center City landscape in all of its snow-covered glory. “Though many were inconvenienced by it, we took the opportunity to fly our drones and capture the beauty the storm left behind,” wrote Satell, on PBA’s website.
“My favorite shot was flying low over the Schuylkill River in front of Boathouse Row,” Satell later told Property. “I loved how the Art Museum looked from the water, with the city in the background.”
