Original Honeygrow to Close for Upgrades

Honeygrow’s original location will close for 5-6 weeks.

When you open seven fast casual stir-fry and salad spots in four years, you learn some things along the way. That has been the case for Honeygrow and now their original location at 110 South 16th Street is showing its age. So they will be closing the location for 5-6 weeks at the end of the month to upgrade the kitchens, update the kiosks and improve the flow of service which clearly was an issue when the popular lunch spot was crowded. The closure will also allow Honeygrow to prepare the space for additional technology updates that are coming later this year.

Before the 16th Street closes on Thursday, January 28th, culinary director David Katz will be hosting a pop-up event featuring special off-the-menu dishes. Katz, who was the chef-owner of Mémé will also host two other pop-ups at nearby Honeygrow locations. Each pop-up will be announced at the last minute via social media and the #hgOffTheMenu hashtag. Loyal customers who manage to attend all three pop-ups will be invited to the VIP friends and family preview of the redesigned 16th Street location and entered to win a $100 Honeygrow gift card.

Honeygrow founder Justin Rosenberg will be relocating workers from the Center City location to other nearby Honeygrow locations and compensating them for their additional travel expenses. He’ll also be offering incentives like concert and basketball tickets, Apple gift cards and additional time off to team members who stick out the closure.
