Making Sense Of the Eagles Inactives
For the second time this season, all seven of the Eagles inactives are healthy scratches. Although Jordan Matthews has been battling a back injury and Byron Maxwell could barely walk earlier this week, both are available tonight.
Thad Lewis, Jonathan Krause, Denzel Rice, Steven Means, Barrett Jones, Tanner Hawkinson and Brandon Bair are inactive for the Eagles. That means four running backs — Kenjon Barner, Ryan Mathews, DeMarco Murray and Darren Sproles — will be available for the second time this year.
As for the Cardinals, quarterback Matt Barkley, safety Rashad Johnson, running back Andre Ellington, linebacker Shaq Riddick, offensive tackle D.J. Humphries, defensive tackle Cory Redding and defensive tackle Xavier Williams. Tony Jefferson will start in place of Johnson at safety, while David Johnson will take Ellington’s spot.
