Rittenhouse’s New CorePower Yoga Studio Opens Tomorrow
Remember wayyyy back in July, when we told you guys about CorePower Yoga, the yoga company — which has studios all over the country — that would soon be setting up shop in Philly for the first time? Well, the time to open the doors to their new Walnut Street studio has come: Starting tomorrow, December 4th, the yoga studio will be open for business, running a very full roster of classes. But, if you don’t have any plans for tonight, note: To kick off their opening, they’re holding a free first-come, first-served yoga class, open to 120 people, at the studio at 7 p.m. this evening. Yes, please!
To refresh your memory: CorePower has over 120 locations around the country, and they specialize in hot yoga — but not just any ol’ hot yoga. They stick to four formats of classes: CorePower Yoga 1, a beginner-friendly class that’s not too, too hot, at 85 degrees; CorePower Yoga 2, a hotter and more advanced power yoga class, with temperatures between 95 and 98 degrees; Hot Power Fusion, a veryyy hot yoga class, at 102 degrees, with set sequences; and Yoga Sculpt, a class set at 94 degrees that works in hand weights and strength movements like push-ups, bicep curls and so on. So yeah, like I said, not just any ol’ hot yoga. Tonight’s free class will be a CorePower Yoga 2 class, so be prepared to sweat — a lot.
It looks like the studio plans to hit the ground running when it comes to their schedule: They’ve got 10 classes on the schedule on their opening day and come next week, that bumps up to 12 on most weekdays. So if you decide to try ‘em out, finding a class that fits in to your schedule shouldn’t be very hard. And another thing to note if you’re planning on trying a class at the new spot: If it’s your first time getting your downward dog on with CorePower, your first week of classes is free. Insert all the praise-hands emojis here.
The new studio is located at 1616 Walnut Street (right next door to the soon-to-open CKO Kickboxing). You can learn more CorePower Yoga here. And if you plan on making it to the free class tonight, we’ll see you there!
