Get Sage Advice from Startup Founders and Investors Next Week

If you’re working for a startup, thinking about launching a startup or just interested in the Philly startup scene — listen up. On Dec. 10, there’s a day-long conference that’s a can’t-miss.
Called Founder Factory, it features 18 speakers, many of whom are running successful startups or tech companies. The speakers include:
- Dan Calista, founder and CEO of Vynamic. (He’s the guy hoping to build the happiest, healthiest workforce in Philly.)
- Andrew Yang, CEO and founder of Venture for America. (It’s basically Teach for America with startups instead of schools.)
- Lucinda Duncalfe, CEO of Monetate. (The company is changing the way retailers interact with customers.)
- Chris Reynolds, CEO and founder of OneTwoSee. (It makes the technology behind Comcast’s X1 sports app.)
They’ll talk about topics like hiring the right people, funding a startup — and perhaps most importantly, how to sell a company.
Run by Philly Startup Leaders, the event will be held at the Chemical Heritage Foundation in Old City.
Perhaps the highlight for founders is the chance to have lunch with active investors. Each table will have eight or so entrepreneurs as well as one active, early-stage investor. The investors include:

- Ellen Weber, Robin Hood Ventures
- Wanda Lee, Safeguard Scientifics
- Holly Flanagan, Gabriel Investments
- Rebecca Price, Investors’ Circle

There’s also a women-only event on Dec. 9 featuring information-sharing and networking around creating successful ventures in the startup world.
