Philly’s Newest Running Group Includes Free Bacon for All
Love bacon? More specifically: Do you love bacon enough for it to motivate you to run? Marc Vetri-owned Fairmount restaurant Alla Spina just launched a new running club called the Vetri Pig Trotters, and there’s free bacon for all after each and every run.
The group, made up Vetri- and non-Vetri employees alike, embarks on low-key, three-to-five-mile group runs suited for all paces and abilities. Food and drink specials, including the aforementioned free bacon plus discounted bar snacks and $3 beers, are available for runners back at the restaurant afterwards. Hey, you earned it.
The group gathers on the third Tuesday of the month — that’d be tomorrow, October 20th — at 7 p.m. Alla Spina is located at 410 Mount Vernon Street, at Broad and Mount Vernon. Check out the club’s Facebook group here for more details.
