Victims Identified in Horrific Bustleton Car Crash

Police say they have identified the three victims — two teenage girls and one man — who were killed by the impact of a car crash on Wednesday night in Bustleton.
In a statement this morning, Philadelphia Police named the two girls — Yvette Gonzalez, 17, of Rhawn Street, and Sabrina Rhoads, 17, of Newberry Street — and the man, 20-year-old Felip Hernandez of Medford N.J., who were pronounced dead on the scene late Wednesday evening when the car they were traveling in reportedly clipped a curb, lost control, smacked into a tree and split in half.
Gonzalez and Rhoads were ejected from the car, a 2007 Acura, by the impact, and Hernandez was trapped inside, police say. A 17-year-old male who survived but suffered severe injuries to his head, femur and pelvis is said by police to still be in critical condition at Jefferson Hospital. Police say that the driver, a 20-year-old male who at 4 a.m. Thursday was transported to the hospital in a private auto and wearing clothes covered in blood, is at Einstein Hospital with “non-life threatening injuries.”
Philadelphia Police have not made any arrests in the case, and say that an investigation is still ongoing.
