The More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same: Philly’s Median Rent Report

First things first: if you haven’t already, take a peek at the latest numbers crunched by Meyers Research chief economist and Lindy Institute senior research fellow Kevin Gillen – they pretty much show Philly’s housing market to be on the upswing everywhere in the city.
In the rental realm, meanwhile…well, the story hasn’t changed too much.
According to Zumper, Philadelphia’s median rent has remained the same, keeping its spot at no. 12 compared to other major cities with a median rent of $1,350/month for 1-bedrooms and $1,400/month for 2-bedrooms. Taking the top slots were San Francisco (median of $3,500 for 1BR), New York ($3,100), Boston ($2,230), San Jose ($2,180), and D.C. ($2,170). You can check out the full July 2015 Rent Report here.
