[Original] Mayor Nutter is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a driver whose SUV struck and killed a 4-year-old boy Monday night in Southwest Philly.
The $20,000 reward offered by Mayor Nutter‘s office was announced Tuesday morning as Philadelphia Police Captain John Wilczynski released details on the woman they say was behind the wheel of the black Ford Edge with a chrome front that struck and killed the boy on the 1600 block of South 57th St. before fleeing the scene.
“I’m confident that the person that hit that child knew they hit the child,” said Capt. Wilczynski.
Authorities say the vehicle was driven by a black woman. She fled south on 57th Street following the collision with the child.
